A fun, yet challenging hiking adventure, open and inclusive for veterans and their families/friends/caregivers. A morning enjoyed outdoors that celebrates community, connection and pushing to thrive. Who can attend?: Registered participants, including veterans, and their families or caregivers. Expectations: Must be comfortable in group spaces and noise; must be 16 years or older to participate. This is a more advanced hike and we will encounter water, mud, slippery trails, ropes to navigate terrain and more! How should I dress? Please wear comfortable clothing conducive to physical activity, closed toe shoes with good traction, and rainwear, if desired. What should I bring? Participants are recommended to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and hat, as well as any personal gear utilized for adaptive hikes. We will have a limited number of trekking poles available to use. Expect to get your feet wet! Timeliness: All participants, volunteers, and community partners are expected to register for each event, arrive on time, and be ready for program start. Please notify staff in case of cancellation, running late, or any other event. Location: Please carpool, if possible, as parking is limited.
