Description

Join us for Summer Night Heights!

This summer we are expanding our outdoor programming! This is a great opportunity to gain experience climbing on real rock in a variety of settings with a small group. Since the character of each crag is unique, and each approach is unique, we will give a description of both to help you determine if the location will work for you. Please reach out with questions or concerns. All participants are welcome regardless of age, gender, or ability. We will focus on every participant as an individual and encourage each climber to push their unique and personal comfort zones. No experience needed!

The Low Hanging Fruit Crag is virtually roadside but some ambulation is necessary to get to the base. We are available to provide some assistance. This crag has a variety of grades which we will have rigged for top-roping. This crag gets late day sun.

We will cover the basics of rope work, belay commands, climber movement, and crag etiquette so that a first time climber or seasoned veteran, can become confidant in the vertical environment. The benefits of climbing have been proven to help a wide range of disabilities such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), limb loss/limb difference, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

We welcome any and all disabilities and look forward to giving back to our community. Benefits of rock climbing include physical and mental aspects such as practice of fine motor skills, coordination of movements, balance, and core control as well as problem solving and mental focus.
