Customized program for N Texas VA Hospital and Recreation Therapy. Includes level 1 and 2 training to VA staff and all participants/community partners. A program hosted by Adaptive Adventures and the North Texas VA inviting cyclists to join us for a variety of challenge races. Trikes, handycles, and upright two-wheel will compete in various disciplines.

Veteran Cycling Clinic Series and FUN Races, Dallas - Texas


A program hosted by Adaptive Adventures and the North Texas VA healthcare system inviting cyclists to join us for a variety of challenge races throughout the week. Trikes, handycles, and upright two-wheel will compete in an omnium style competition which will include long distance group ride, road race, and criterium.  This event is FREE and registration is required to participate in these events. Please sign and read our waiver as well. (Waiver


*For all participants in the omnium events housing & transportation will not be provided. 

*Adaptive Adventures will host group dinners for all participants after each event.

-Recommended for all new riders & those that are wanting detailed assessments with staff

9:30 AM-11:30 AM Mechanics

Sunday 12/04 Dallas REI 

10:00 AM- 4:00 PM  Community Event Try Adaptive Sports and adaptive cycling symposium/workshop

We invite you to join us at the Dallas REI for a community event where we would display adaptive cycling, advocate for more accessible trails, and interact with the community. This event is great for newer riders to demo equipment and refine your adaptive outfitting or demo ours. There will be a learn to wrench your own bike or enhance your current adaptive cycle setup. We have tools, stands, and lots of equipment!

Buddy riders, volunteers, and civilian riders sought to build the Dallas adaptive cycling community!

You must register to particpate in any way with this customized series with the Veterans Administration system and Adaptive Adventures collaborative recreation therapy clinic event. 

All veteran participants must have a referral to PT/OT, and recreation therapy to qualify for the earn a cycle progression as part of the adaptive sports equipment grant.

all volunteers will be assigned a buddy rider and progress through the theraputic process for all new veteran riders. 

This clinic also provides level 2 mechanical and adaptive coaching theory for community partners and mentors, as well races for crterium and road.


Goals

-increase veteran’s involvement in cycling

-increase awareness of safe cycling locations

-increase knowledge of parts

demonstrate ability to perform minor and advanced repairs

- explain process of obtaining sports equipment from VA

With a majority of events in North Texas, we recommend staying in Richardson, Addison, & Plano area. Call out your fellow riders, buddies, and veterans to join you!

Veteran Climbing Program Opportunity
Wednesday 11/30 Summit Climbing, Plano
11:00 AM *If you are in town Wednesday, join us for a climbing program with our National Climbing Manager & Adaptive Adventures Staff.
This indoor climbing program will be FREE and you will get instruction from our staff. Come check out an adaptive sport that introduces new ways to be active.
