We'll complete a series of three short "day rides" where we'll make new friends and practice riding. Our program will culminate in an amazing bike camping overnight on Chicago's beautiful lake front.

Day Ride #1: Wednesday, July 7th, volunteers 4 PM - 7 PM, participants 5 PM - 7 PM, Busse Woods.

Day Ride #2: Thursday, July 15th, 1 PM to 3 PM: Skokie Lagoons

Day Ride #3: Tuesday, July 27th, 5 PM to 7 PM, Northerly Island/Lake Front Trail.

Bike Camping Overnight Saturday, August 7th to Sunday, the 8th: South Shore Cultural Center (tentative) / Chicago Lakefront Trail, times to be determined.

Adaptive Day Ride 1, Busse Woods - July 7th: Volunteers will meet at 4PM, Participants 5PM. We’ll wrap up by 7PM. The Busse Woods Trail system is located within Ned Brown Forest PReserve, a 3,700-acre property in the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago.  We’ll be riding all or parts of the main 8 mile loop, circling some lakes and meadows.  We’ll spend some time getting to know each other and making new friends.  Those who want can hang out after the ride to socialize. Feel free to bring camp chairs, picnic blankets, lawn games, etc.

The Busse Woods Trail in Ned Brown Preserve is located just east of Woodfield Mall. Access the Park at E. Higgins Rd. and Arlington Heights Rd. in Elk Grove Village.

Adaptive Day Ride 2, Skokie Lagoons - July 15th, 1PM to 3PM, optional social time after. The Skokie Lagoons is a nature preserve in Glencoe and Winnetka, Illinois, with 7 interconnected lagoons, and a beautiful tree lined 4.4 mile bicycle loop where we’ll be riding.

Adaptive Day Ride 3, Lake Front Trail, Northerly Island - Tuesday, July 27th 5PM to 7PM, with optional social time afterwards.  We’ll meet at Northerly Island 1521 S. Linn White Dr. Chicago, IL 60605 (parking details to follow).  To help us get ready for our bike camping overnight, we’ll check out our tents and camping gear generously provided by our partners with the Chicago Park District.   From there, we’ll ride South on the less crowded section of the  LakeFront Trail, through newly restored habitat in the Burnham Wildlife Corridor.

Culminating Adaptive Bike Camping Overnight - South Shore Cultural Center (tentative) - 8/7-8/8, times TBD: We'll meet at the South Shore Cultural Center and head North on the beautiful Lake Front Path.  We'll participate in fun "off bike" activities like going to the beach, museum campus, and even possibly a lake or river cruise.  After camping, smores, songs, etc. we'll ride back to South Shore Cultural Center the following morning.
