Kids Club, Adaptive Paddlesports - Colorado

07/13/2022 04:00 PM - 06:00 PM MT

Location

Bear Creek Lake Park
Soda Lakes Marina
Morrison, CO

Description

This youth-only paddlesports clinic will teach kids (ages 5-17) with physical disabilities how to paddle a kayak or paddleboard in a fun and safe environment. We will teach the basics of transferring in and out of the watercraft, how to properly adjust and hold the equipment, and how to maneuver the watercraft out on the lake. We will go over forward and backward motion, how to turn, and how to stop. Once we have the basics down, we will have fun exploring the lake and playing with new friends! We have adaptations for ALL abilities and look forward to giving back to our young community members!

Youth participants are welcome to bring up to ONE friend or sibling to join in on the fun!

IMPORTANT NOTES: (1) at least one parent or legal guardian is required to be on-site during the duration of this event. (2) there is a small $5 park entrance fee per vehicle upon arrival (discounted for persons with disabilities).

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable and flexible clothing. Equipment is provided, including watercraft and safety vests.

*Please join us for any of our Kids Club programs throughout the summer! Every other week we will focus on a different sport: climbing, cycling, and paddling!
