Short Description

Come join Adaptive Adventures and fellow Variety families at Vertical Endeavors for a fun-filled evening of Adaptive Rock Climbing. No previous climbing experience is necessary and this event is open to children and all family members.

Goals

· Learn climbing skills and adaptive equipment/techniques

· Foster an amazing sense of community, trust, courage and accomplishment.

· Break through barriers and summit to new heights.

Who Can Attend?

This is an event meant for children with disabilities and their families that reside in DuPage County. Climbing can be easily adapted to almost any ability level. Whether you have an amputation, spinal cord injury, visual impairment or limited mobility due to CP, SB, MS, MD or other physical conditions, we have climbing opportunities for you!

What Can I Expect?

Whether you are new to climbing or a seasoned climber, our experienced staff and volunteers have the knowledge, skillset and the equipment to safely get you on the wall and ascend toward your goals.
 

How Should I Dress & Things to bring?

Please dress in comfortable clothing but avoid loose fitting clothing that can catch on surroundings and equipment. Feel free to bring a water bottle, a drinking fountain is on-site. If you utilize any adaptive equipment or braces, please bring/wear those as well so we may assess their safety and use for performing on the wall.

Timeliness

Please arrive at 5:30 to check in and get set-up. If you cannot attend, we kindly ask that you give us 24 - 48-hour notice so we can accommodate and notify the climbing gym.
