Join Adaptive Adventures at Perfect North Slopes for our Military Ski & Snowboard Camp. Our trained staff and volunteers will teach you the fundamentals of skiing and/or snowboarding in a fun and interactive environment. Whether you are new to snowsports or looking to continue to advance your independence and confidence carving on the slopes, we look forward to helping you achieve your personal goals on the snow.
This year we are offering programs on Thursday, February 8th (10am - 4pm), Friday, February 9th (10am - 4pm), and Saturday morning (9:30am - 12:30am). Please register for one of these days. **By clicking the "register" button, you will be APPLYING for a position to this camp and will automatically be placed on the Waiting List. Due to the limited number of spots available, your application will be reviewed by the Adaptive Adventures staff who will then get in contact with you if you have been selected**
Goals
· Work 1:1 with a trained adaptive instructor on lesson progressions specific to your ski/snowboard experience and abilities
· Enjoy community with others
· Get outside to be active
Schedule
Please meet us in the Main Lodge. After we connect you with your adaptive instructors for the day, they will asssit you with getting equipment and gearing up to get out on the snow.
Who Can Attend?
Any injured Military Veteran or active duty mlitary. We welcome and can adapt lessons to any ski/snowboard level, whether you are beginner or advanced. **Please note there is a 220 lb weight limit for all sit skiers, stand-up skiers and snowboarders. If you exceed this weight limit, please email the contact listed below to discuss potential options.**
What Can I Expect?
Adaptive Adventures will provide an opportunity to learn to ski/snowboard or improve upon existing abilities. All participants will experience lessons individually catered to your skills and needs. Adaptive equipment will be provided as needed.
Individuals can chose a one day lesson. Please note that all registrations close at 11:55pm on Wednesday, January 31st. All Adaptive Adventures programs are free of charge for Military Veterans and active duty military thanks to the VA Adaptive Sports Grant, Disabled American Veterans Service Trust and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. How Should I Dress? & Things to Bring
Come dressed and prepared to spend some time on the snow! Make sure that you are checking the forecast and come prepared to be outside in whatever weather Mother Nature gives us! Timeliness
We make every effort to adhere to our schedule. We ask that you respect the scheduled times and arrive on time for your scheduled lesson. If you are going to be late or can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible.
