The Mission is Simple – Support Our Vets!
Warrior Weekend is an event-filled weekend spanning Friday, October 4th, Saturday, October 5th, and concluding on Sunday, October 6th.

Thank you for your interest in on our 1st Annual "Ride like a Warrior" criterium race. This event is in honor of the Laguna Family and their role in Adaptive Cycling and Caregiver support for America's hero's. The Maryland VA's Adaptive Sports programs mission is to improve our Veteran's physical and mental quality of life through individualized, non-traditional settings and modalities; like cycling. Our services also provide qualifying Veterans with the adaptive equipment to continue their personal journey. The Maryland VA Adaptive Sports program also has a mission to not only provide services to our heroes but to their families and caregivers. In 2025, we are rolling out our program called "Pedals for Partners" that will allow our Veterans and their partners to grow together through adaptive cycling. We encourage riders and non-riders to come together to support our "Movement is Medicine" motto!!

This ride is located on the Perry Point, Maryland VA Hospital campus, where we will provide a 1.5mile loop that is safe for all ages and abilities. Safety stations will be set up along the course and spectators will be able to watch from any location throughout the course. Upon entering the gate, please follow signs to assist with location of parking and location of check in. Check in will begin at 8am-9:30am. We will start the race at 10am. At 1pm we will hold a "Parade of Athletes and Community Support" prior to distributing awards and closing remarks.

**NICA Riders who are registered for the ride will be provided a Q&A session with the Maryland VA Adaptive Sports Coordinator, as well as experience adaptive cycling personally during the event. This includes education and intro training of the different adaptive cycles.**
