Summary

Come join Adaptive Adventures as we support the Foco Fondo Training Ride. This will be an intermediate ride as the route is 34 miles and 1500 ft of climbing. All riders will need to sign a waiver through Foco Fondo and be able to ride at a pace of 10-12 mph.

If you need to borrow a bike please contact Gilbert Vasquez. All riders who wish to borrow a bike from Adaptive Adventures will need to attend a cycling program prior to the training ride, sign all waivers, and be able to ride the 34 mile course.

It’s the final ride of our in-person Training Ride series! Thank you Pearl iZUMi for supporting this program again in 2025!The ride departs from New Belgium Brewing at 9am. Complete the ride and be sure to tag us on Instagram (@focofondo) and join our Strava Club for a chance to win Rio Grande gift cards throughout the year. We’ll stick around afterwards for a beer and food truck lunch.

Riders are encouraged to ride with similarly paced riders. While it will not be no-drop, there will also be a lanterne rouge to make sure everyone makes it back ok - Big thanks to to Melanated Lovelies for taking on this role for our June ride.


Black Hollow Resevoir Loop

Another classic eastern loop out to the Black Hollow Reservoir. Sometimes there are also buffalo on this route, which is 100% a photo opportunity. 35 miles and 1500 feet of climbing.

Goals: 

 

Who can attend?: Individuals with physical disabilities over the age of 18 years old, their family and support members, volunteers and community partners. 

 

Expectations: Must be able to self-transfer up or down by 12+ inches; must be comfortable in close confines with other athletes in narrow seating; must be 18 years or older to participate.

 

How should I dress & things to bring? : Please wear moisture wicking and comfortable clothing, closed toe shoes and bring rain gear and layers in case of inclement weather. 

Participants are recommended to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and hat for practice.

 

Timeliness: All participants, volunteers, and community partners are expected to register for each event, arrive on time, and be ready when program starts. Please notify staff in case of cancellation, running late, or any other event.
